Brother
03:35
|
|||
Through the Son we live in God’s fraternity.
Through His blood, we’re brothers for eternity.
As two we gather with His word in hand.
As three we rise together for His plan.
And I’ll lift you up when you fall down.
I’ll give my grip; you grab my hand.
We’re better together, and with God—more strong,
Because one man is no man.
All through the pages that we’re turning:
Morality, and friendship, and sound learning.
In His word we see the model for the way:
How to love and how to live and how we pray.
And I’ll lift you up when you fall down.
I’ll give my grip; you grab my hand.
We’re better together, and with God—more strong,
Because one man is no man. Now go!
I’ll be your best man at the altar.
And I’ll help correct you if you falter.
If to the left or right your path should ever stray,
I’ll be your loving tough accountability!
And I’ll lift you up when you fall down.
I’ll give my grip; you grab my hand.
We’re better together, and with God—more strong,
Because one man is no man. Oh!
Because one man is no man.
Because one man is no man.

Cord of Strands
04:53
|
|||
Here I am
Alone
Again.
I suffer silently and think about the things I did.
In a prison by my hands.
And all that’s left of us—a broken, tattered cord of strands.
There you stand
Alone
Again.
You cry yourself to sleep and think about the things I did.
In a prison by my hands.
And what is left of us—a broken, tattered cord of strands.
We could talk about it, baby (baby).
We could try again and see what we could do.
We could fix the problem, baby (baby).
We make a two cord strand that’s strong enough to get us through…
Here we stand
Alone
Again.
We are powerless—a sobering realization.
There is nothing we can do.
We need His help, His strength, His power here to see us through!
Can’t just talk about it, baby (baby).
Can’t just try again and see what we could do.
We cannot fix the problem, baby (baby).
We need a three cord strand that’s strong enough to get us through.
He can save us from the fall.
Our rope is broken and we need His hand.
He will save us from the fall!
Our rope can still be saved if this one prayer is in His plan!
In His plan!
We should pray about it, baby.
We should talk to Him and see what He can do.
He can fix the problem, baby (baby).
We need a three cord strand that’s strong enough to get us through!
We should talk to Him and see what He can do.
He will fix the problem, baby (baby).
We need a three cord strand that’s strong enough to get us through!
He’ll get us through.

Stealing
Mystery
They define my dark history.
Thieving
Lying
My brother’s blood on my hands drying.
Lied to
Misled
his empty promises in my head.
Betrayed
Dismayed
Death my payment due today.
Broken
Bleeding
Mind and body flogged and beaten.
Secured
But don’t feel
My support of wood and cold steel.
At my left--
A man.
Truly innocent in His plan.
I am
Guilty
I pray that He remembers me.
Just know, it’s never too late
To have a compass change of your fate.
Just know, if you believe in Him.
Just know, there isn’t a place
That can’t feel the warmth of His grace.
Just know, if you believe in Him!
Believe in Him!
Just know, it’s never too late
To have a compass change of your fate.
Just know, if you believe in Him.
Just know, there isn’t a place
That can’t feel the warmth of His grace.
Just know, if you believe in Him!
Believe in Him!
Believe in Him!

I Never Knew You
03:54
|
|||
I have said my last goodbyes.
To my judgement in the skies.
The leftward gate is very thin:
Heaven’s treasure all within.
The gate on the other side
Is filled with smoke, and very wide.
A few go left in robes of white.
The rest in chains go to the right.
“Lord, Lord” is what I replied,
And He saw my heart inside.
I looked at Him and He shook His head.
He looked at me and He said:
“I never knew you.”
I went to church most every week.
I didn’t kill, or steal, or cheat.
I read Your book most every day.
I even made some time to pray.
I played for You and sang Your songs.
I gave You tithes my whole life long.
I gave some earthly pleasures up.
I ate Your bread and I drank Your cup!
“Lord, Lord” is what I cried,
But He knew my heart inside.
I looked again and He shook His head.
He looked at me and He said:
“I never knew you.” (No!)
“I never knew you.” (No!)
“Now go!”
He removes my white sheep hide,
And reveals the wolf inside.
On the vine, he peels my skin,
And reveals the thorns within.
I feel the heat rise from my toes.
The smell of sulfur burns my nose.
I see a furnace full of stone,
A boiling lake, and a black, burnt throne!
“Lord, Lord” is what I yelled,
But He knew my fate was hell!
I looked again and He shook His head.
He looked at me and He said:
“I never knew you.” (No! No!)
“I never knew you.” (No! No! No!)
“I never knew you.”

Why?
03:38
|
|||
Why was it meant
For James to have that accident?
Why did You steal
The hands that he had used to heal?
Sometimes Your perfect plan…
I just don’t understand…
Why did my friend
Take his own life in the end?
Why take away
Reese that windy August day?
Sometimes Your perfect plan…
I just don’t understand…
Why?
Oh, why?
Why was it pride
That Grandpa had deep down inside?
Why take his life
After he’d gone under the knife?
Sometimes Your perfect plan…
I just don’t understand…
But maybe James can do Your will
And heal with talent he does have still.
Maybe those loved and gone are angels near,
Doing Your work on earth for sinners here.
But it’s just not clear…
Sometimes Your perfect plan…
I just don’t understand…

My Stronghold
05:25
|
|||
Climbing my stronghold, I can taste a battle won.
More to come and decades gone, by sacrifices overrun.
Pour the finest wine in this new victory.
And start the drunken and encompassing frivolity.
Look at me now, standing here all by myself
The future lies ahead; I don’t have any doubts!
Never thought it could feel like this. Didn’t know it could be this way.
I’m on a never-ending road on which I know the way!
A new sun rises; it illuminates my life.
A black field of long sharp thorns—the details of that morning light.
Long the shadows born in this new day.
A life defined by sin and hurt—for pride I threw it all away.
Look at me now, standing here all by myself
The future lies ahead; I have so many doubts.
Never thought it could feel like this. Didn’t know it could be this way.
I’m on a never-ending road, and just can’t find my way.
Can’t find my way! Selah
Habits make a black routine, the nature of my heart.
Against The One who gave me life, the agony tears my soul apart.
Need a vertical horizon change for my hopeless run.
A blindness case of which I know I cannot see without The Son.
Look at me now, broken here all by myself.
The future lies ahead; I am so full of doubt.
Never thought it could feel like this. Didn’t know it could be this way.
On a never-ending road, I repent and pray You show the way.
Repent and pray You show the way.
Repent and pray You show the way.
Repent and pray You show the way…

A Year Ago Today
03:40
|
|||
Do you remember the third of May?
The soft moonlight?
A perfect night!
Oh, I remember it like yesterday.
Your sweet face.
My heart raced!
It was the best night of my life.
But now it’s time to say goodbye.
Just one more chance
For true romance.
I lean in, and hold you tight.
I pull away,
And hesitate…
I tilt my head and close my eyes.
A year ago today is when we had our first kiss.
A year ago today is when I tasted your lips.
A year ago today is when I heard from heaven.
A year ago today, knew we belong together.
You’re all that I hoped for and prayed
A year ago today.
Your soul whispers with angel’s breath.
And our lips dance.
Heaven’s trance!
Your sunshine hair falls ‘round your neck.
Get lost in you,
My prayer come true! Yeah!
A year ago today is when we had our first kiss.
A year ago today is when I tasted your lips.
A year ago today is when I heard from heaven.
A year ago today, knew we belong together.
You’re all that I hoped for and prayed
A year ago today.
I won’t forget that sparkle in your eyes.
I smiled wide, and then
You smiled back. Then you leaned in and
We kissed again!
A year ago today is when I heard from heaven.
A year ago today, knew we belong together.
You’re all that I hoped for and prayed.
A year ago today! (…is when we had our first kiss.)
A year ago today is when I tasted your lips.
A year ago today is when I heard from heaven.
A year ago today, knew we belong together.
You’re all that I hoped for and prayed.
A year ago today.

A Wedding Song
04:31
|
|||
In your arms is where I want to be,
So happy in your embrace.
When you’re in my arms, there’s a love that I see
So beautifully in your face.
In my world, you’re everything I see.
I see your smile throughout the day.
Oh, and when I dream, you’re in every fantasy.
You comfort me as I lay.
We have each other—
A perfect love that will last our whole lives through.
In your heart is where I want to be,
From my first glimpse ‘til my last breath with you.
Come with me! Let’s run forever.
Hold my hand and nothing can go wrong.
Let your heart outpour everything.
Let God entwine our lives and make us strong!
We have each other—
A perfect love that will last our whole lives through.
In your heart is where I want to be,
From my first glimpse ‘til my last breath with you.
I am yours for all eternity.
I’d go through any fight for you.
I give my life to you…

Guardian Angel
04:35
|
|||
You smiled on me when I was born.
You held my head, put me to sleep.
You embraced my wide-eyed innocence.
You helped me walk and sang to me.
You smiled on me as I grew up.
You saw me run and heard me sing.
You loved me through my teenage ignorance.
You were there for me through everything.
But now you’ve gone somewhere better,
My guardian angel, my Giving Tree.
I’m missing you, but it’s good to know
That up in heaven, you smile on me.
Each goodbye became our last.
We shared some tears; I held you tight.
Never knowing which smile would be the last,
Sometimes I agonize in hindsight…
In your final hours, you heard me cry.
You heard me say I love you, the last goodbye…
But now you’ve gone somewhere better,
My guardian angel, my Giving Tree.
I’m missing you, but it’s good to know
That up in heaven, you smile on me. Yeah!
Now I’m standing at your resting place.
The April rain—it is my tears.
But through the gray clouds, I know there is a way.
I’ll see your smile again for sure one day.
But now you’ve gone somewhere better,
My guardian angel, my Giving Tree. Yeah!
I’m missing you, but it’s good to know
That up in heaven, you smile on me.

you Won't Break Me
04:54
|
|||
you persuade
To act irate,
Be quick to hate,
Intimidate.
you promise me, that I’ll feel better in the end…
you tell me
Imbibe frequently,
Drink excessively,
Get drunk commonly.
you say surely I, I will not die from the sin.
I armor myself: a chestplate and shoes,
A helmet and a shield of countless virtues.
A belt for my sword, and I pray God’s word
So I can fight against your lying voice in this world!
No! you won’t break me! No!
No! you won’t break me! No!
you tell me
Seek nudity,
Find ecstasy,
Just touch and see.
you promise me, that I’ll feel better in the end…
you will plea
Find idolatry
In pornography,
Infidelity.
you say surely I, I will not die from the sin.
I armor myself: a chestplate and shoes,
A helmet and a shield of countless virtues.
A belt for my sword, and I pray God’s word
So I can fight against your lying voice in this world!
No! you won’t break me! No!
No! you won’t break me!
No!
No! you won’t break me! No! No!
No! you won’t break me! No! No! No!
